Another Powerful Day on the Ranch
We had another super powerful day on the ranch on Wednesday.
As part of an Indigenous Knowledge Exchange facilitated by Montana State University’s Native American Studies program, we did a cultural field-harvest on the ranch.
There were a bunch of Indigenous Māori folks from New Zealand here — as well as folks from Canada and multiple Tribes across Montana.
We worked together, laughed together, cried together, told stories, exchanged knowledge, and had an amazing day.
We also had an amazing bison lunch made by the one and only Seth Still Smoking.
The Māori folks ended the day with a traditional dance and song, which was super powerful.
I didn’t understand a word of it, but the power and intensity of it brought tears to my eyes.
We made new friends, we laughed and laughed and laughed, and I learned a ton.
Days like this fill my heart in ways I didn’t know was possible.
To all of our new friends, thank you for being here — and thank you for trusting our family with this day.
We are so deeply humbled.
Thank you.
Let’s do it again soon.
